Before you buy
Purchases and refunds.
One vehicle report. One payment. Here is what you receive and how to get help if something goes wrong.
What you’re buying
The price shown before payment is the total in Australian dollars, including GST. Each report is a one-off purchase for your chosen vehicle year, make and model. There is no subscription.
Your report summarises commonly reported faults, with links to the research sources. We use AI-assisted research and may supply an existing saved report rather than conduct fresh research for every purchase.
Every saved report shows when it was researched and its next annual review date. Once that date passes, the next new purchase funds fresh research instead of receiving the overdue saved version. Your one-off purchase keeps access to the report supplied for that vehicle, but it is not a subscription for a newly researched report every year.
What the report can—and cannot—tell you
The report helps you identify questions to ask before buying a used vehicle. It describes the model generally, not the condition or history of an individual car.
It is not a mechanical inspection, vehicle-history check, roadworthy certificate or guarantee of reliability. A listed fault does not mean every vehicle will develop it, and the report may not identify every possible issue.
Research can contain mistakes or outdated information. Check the linked sources and arrange an independent inspection before making a purchase decision. These limitations do not remove your consumer rights.
Receiving and finding your report
You can access your report on our website. We also send a private access link to the email address you provide at checkout. If your vehicle needs new research, there may be a wait before the findings are ready.
Lost your link? Use our report recovery page with your purchase email and vehicle details. You do not need to buy the same report again. Keep your access link private.
Help and refunds
We do not offer refunds solely for a change of mind once a report has been correctly supplied. This does not affect your rights if the report or service fails to meet applicable consumer guarantees.
If we cannot provide your purchased report within a reasonable time, you can request a refund. We will also refund an accidental duplicate charge for the same purchase.
A full refund ends private access through that purchase. This does not limit any other remedy you may be entitled to under Australian Consumer Law.
For help or to request a refund, email support@thelemoncheck.com with the email address used for your purchase, the vehicle year, make and model, your purchase date or receipt, and a short explanation of the problem. Please do not send your card details.
Your consumer rights
Your purchase is covered by applicable Australian Consumer Law guarantees. Depending on the problem, you may be entitled to have it fixed, receive a refund or obtain another remedy, including compensation where applicable. Nothing on this page limits those rights. Read the ACCC’s guidance on remedies.
Email and marketing
Buying a report does not automatically subscribe you to marketing emails. Marketing signup is optional, and unsubscribing does not remove your purchased report access. Read our privacy notice for more.
